Adult AD(H)S assessment in Basel
A lot of effort. Still struggling with everyday tasks? Attention, organisation or restlessness may prompt questions about attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder — referred to here by the German abbreviation AD(H)S.
When might an assessment help?
You may experience recurring difficulties starting tasks, keeping track of things or managing attention. These experiences alone do not establish a diagnosis. Assessment considers your development, current circumstances and other possible explanations together.
This service is exclusively for adults. We agree which questions the assessment should address before starting.
Agreeing the process together
- Discuss your questions. What would you like to understand better?
- Agree the framework. We agree the scope, appointments, process and fixed fee beforehand.
- Consider the full picture. Assessment brings together several sources of information. Individual test scores or self-ratings do not determine a diagnosis by themselves.
The assessment is open to different outcomes. We agree beforehand what evaluation and documentation are included.
What does an assessment cost?
A fixed fee is agreed in advance. The standard counselling session rate does not apply. The invoice is private: no billing to basic health insurance or direct billing to supplementary insurers. Supplementary insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed and must be discussed with the insurer beforehand.
Common questions
Do I need a medical referral?
No medical referral is required for this privately paid service. We discuss your questions and whether the service is suitable.
How long does an assessment take?
Duration depends on the agreed scope and available appointments. Please enquire about current availability. An enquiry is not an appointment confirmation.
Can I raise questions about both AD(H)S and autism?
Yes. We discuss which questions and scope are appropriate before starting.
Is an online self-test enough?
No. A questionnaire may offer indications but does not replace a professional assessment. Personal history and the effects on everyday life also matter.
